Grok subscription plans now come through The X Subscription, which SpaceXSI launched on October 12, 2026. There are five tiers: Free ($0), Plus ($8 a month), Premium ($30), Super ($100) and Ultra ($200). Every paid tier includes Grok, Cursor and X benefits, and they all draw from one weekly usage pool. For most people who want Grok Bot, video generation and the latest Grok models, Premium at $30 is the plan to look at first. If you already pay for SuperGrok, you can keep it. Switching is optional.
Everything below comes from SpaceXSI's own pages: the launch announcement, the plans page and the X Subscription pricing docs, checked on October 17, 2026. Prices are US list prices before tax.
Grok subscription plans at a glance
| Plan | Monthly | Annual | Usage (vs Plus) | Grok Bot | X benefits |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | Limited | No | Standard X |
| Plus | $8 | $80 (about $7 a month) | Base | No | Checkmark, creator tools, fewer ads |
| Premium | $30 | $300 (about $25 a month) | 4x | Yes | Full X Premium+ benefits |
| Super | $100 | $1,000 (about $84 a month) | 15x | Yes | Full X Premium+ benefits |
| Ultra | $200 | $2,000 (about $167 a month) | 50x | Yes | Full X Premium+ benefits |
In plain words: Free gets you daily Grok with limits. Plus at eight dollars is the cheapest paid tier and mostly suits people who care about the X side. Premium at thirty dollars is where Grok Bot, video and the newest models start. Super and Ultra are the same feature set as Premium with a much bigger weekly allowance.
SpaceXSI's own recommendation on the plans page is Premium for new AI users, Super for daily agent users, Ultra for power users, and Plus for social creators with limited AI usage.
What each X Subscription plan includes
Free ($0)
The free tier gives you limited Chat requests and limited agent requests in Grok, a starter allowance for Cursor's coding agents, and a standard X account where you can post, reply and follow. It's the right place to start if you only want to test Grok's live answers about the web and X.
Plus ($8 a month)
Plus adds a shared AI usage pool and lists Grok Chat, Voice, Imagine and Build, Grok API access and Cursor. On X you get the Premium checkmark, fewer timeline ads, enhanced creator tools and advanced analytics. What Plus does not include is Grok Bot: the Grok Bot docs say you need Premium or higher for that. Plus also isn't sold to teams. If you plan to call Grok from your own code, our guide is the xAI API free? explains the prepaid credits and current API prices.
Premium ($30 a month)
Premium is the plan SpaceXSI marks as most popular. It has four times the usage of Plus and adds Grok Bot, the latest Grok models, faster Chat responses, image and video generation, and Cursor features such as cloud agents and automations, code hosting and AI code reviews. On X it adds ad free scrolling on most surfaces, a preferred handle and a higher reply boost.
The announcement describes Premium as the benefits of SuperGrok, Cursor Pro and X Premium+ in one plan, which SpaceXSI says previously cost $90 a month combined. If you have X Premium+ today and want to keep those benefits, the X Premium migration docs say to pick Premium or higher.
Super ($100 a month)
Super includes everything in Premium with fifteen times the Plus usage, plus priority model access at peak times. It fits people who run Grok Bot or long agent tasks every day and keep running out of a Premium allowance.
Ultra ($200 a month)
Ultra has the same features as Super with fifty times the Plus usage. It's built for heavy, all day use across Grok, Grok Bot and Cursor.
How the shared weekly usage pool works
The biggest change is not the prices. It's the usage model. Each paid seat gets one weekly pool of included usage, and that pool is shared across Grok and Cursor instead of being split into separate product quotas. Within Grok, the plans page says the pool covers Chat, Imagine, Voice and Bot, and the allowance refreshes every week.
A few details matter before you pay:
- Activities cost different amounts. The usage limits docs say usage rates vary by product. Grok's help FAQ gives the same idea in plainer terms: a chat message uses little compute, while a high quality video or a long coding task uses far more.
- Grok Bot shares the same pool. Bot usage draws from your seat's weekly pool. It is not an extra allowance on top.
- Running out is not a hard stop. You can wait for the weekly reset, buy top ups (Additional Usage credits), turn on Auto Top Up, or upgrade. Grok's FAQ says top ups start at $5 on the web, expire one year after purchase and cost more per action than your included usage.
- Spending caps exist. You can set a monthly cap on paid Additional Usage, and adding prepaid credit does not raise that cap.
- Third party models are always extra. In Cursor, models such as Claude or GPT are not part of the included pool. They're billed at API list prices from the first use and paid from prepaid credit.
That last point is the one people miss. If your main reason to pay is using Claude or GPT models inside Cursor, the monthly fee mostly buys Grok usage, and the third party usage comes on top.
Does The X Subscription include Grok?
Yes. Every tier includes Grok, from limited access on Free to the full set of Grok products on Premium and above. Grok usage counts against the same pool wherever you use it: the Grok apps, the Grok tab on X or Cursor, per the launch announcement.
The X benefits only apply once you connect a personal X account. The X Premium migration docs say accounts managed by an organization, including affiliate accounts, can't be connected, and the eligibility docs add that each X account can be combined with only one Grok account.
X Subscription vs Grok subscription: do you have to switch?
If you already pay for SuperGrok, Cursor or X Premium, nothing changes unless you choose to move. The switching docs are clear: your current plan, price and features continue. New customers, including anyone with only a free X account, start on The X Subscription.
If you do switch, three things happen:
- The old Cursor, SuperGrok and paid X Premium subscriptions you select are cancelled at checkout.
- You get an automatic prorated refund for unused time. It goes back to your original payment method separately, so the new plan is charged at full price at checkout.
- A new billing cycle starts that day, and the change is permanent. SpaceXSI's docs say Support can't undo a completed switch, and cancelling later does not restore your old plans.
You start from cursor.com/unify if you pay for Cursor, or from accounts.x.ai/unify if you're starting from Grok or X.
Watch out for app store billing
How you pay matters. If you pay for Cursor through Apple's App Store, switching does not cancel or refund that Apple subscription, so you have to cancel it in your iPhone or iPad settings or Apple keeps billing you. If you bought Grok, Grok Bot or X Premium through Google Play, the docs tell you to check Google Play after you switch and cancel it there if it's still set to renew. Apple purchases of Grok or X Premium are cancelled for you, with Apple deciding on the refund.
Teams and Enterprise
Teams can buy Premium, Super and Ultra seats at the same per seat prices as individual plans: $30, $100 and $200. Each seat has its own weekly pool, members can mix tiers on one team, and the team shares one prepaid balance for Additional Usage. Team features listed on the plans page include centralized billing, usage analytics, SSO and admin controls. Enterprise customers buy through SpaceXSI's sales team, and some Enterprise accounts can't switch yet.

Pros and cons of The X Subscription
Pros
- One bill and one account for Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor and X benefits.
- A cheap entry tier at $8, and an annual option that lowers the monthly cost on every paid tier.
- Weekly resets, so one heavy day doesn't drain a whole month of usage.
- Existing SuperGrok, Cursor and X Premium plans keep working; nobody is forced to move.
- Spending caps and a live usage view make top ups easier to control.
Cons
- Grok Bot and video generation start at $30, not on Plus.
- Third party models in Cursor get no included allowance at all.
- One shared pool means heavy Grok Bot or video use eats into your coding allowance, and the reverse.
- The switch can't be undone, and app store billing needs manual cleanup.
- Usage is described as multiples of Plus ("4x", "15x"), not in fixed numbers of messages or images, so it's hard to know exactly what you get before you try it.

FAQ
Is Grok free?
Yes. The Free tier of The X Subscription costs nothing and includes limited Chat and agent requests in Grok. Grok's FAQ also says that when a paid user hits the weekly limit, free tier Chat and Voice limits still apply on their own schedule.
How much is Grok Premium?
Premium on The X Subscription costs $30 a month or $300 a year in the US, before tax. It includes four times the Plus usage, Grok Bot, the latest Grok models and image and video generation, along with full X Premium+ benefits.
Does the $8 Plus plan include Grok Bot?
No. SpaceXSI's Grok Bot docs say Plus does not include Grok Bot. You need Premium, Super or Ultra.
Can I keep my SuperGrok plan?
Yes. Existing SuperGrok plans continue at their current price unless you change or cancel them. If you switch, the old plan is cancelled and refunded for unused time, and the switch is permanent.
Are Claude and GPT included in the usage pool?
No. The included pool covers Grok models and Grok Bot. Third party models in Cursor, such as Claude or GPT, are billed at API list prices from the first use through prepaid top ups.
How do I cancel The X Subscription?
If you pay on the web, open Billing and invoices on your grok.com dashboard and cancel from your plan's options. If you subscribed on X or through Google Play, cancel it there. The plans page says to cancel at least 24 hours before renewal to avoid another charge.
